Generous Listening
Emotional Support Groups

Healing starts with generous listening.

Our Generous Listening Emotional Support Groups are 5-week circles where women come together to rebuild belonging, resilience, and hope, guided by trained facilitators and grounded in the practice of generous listening.

What Are the Generous
Listening Emotional Support Groups?

These groups are safe, confidential spaces designed for people who have experienced trauma and loss. Rooted in generous listening, they create moments of genuine connection and healing.

Each group meets once a week, for five weeks, with up to 12 participants. Sessions are led by trained psychologists who guide reflection, sharing, and resilience-building exercises.

Why They Matter

Belonging:

Women find comfort in knowing they are not alone.

Resilience:

Participants develop new tools to face life’s challenges.

Voice:

Every woman is given space to be truly listened.

Community:

Connections formed often continue long after the program ends.

Since launch, more than 1400 person have participated, reporting increases in self-esteem, emotional awareness, and social belonging.

How Does It Work?

What Makes This Different

Unlike traditional support programs,
these groups:

  • Focus on the listener as much as the speaker.
  • Use generous listening as both practice and philosophy.
  • Are designed to be scalable and replicable across different trauma-affected contexts.
  • Build a pipeline of facilitators to sustain the model in local communities.

“My pain has lightened a bit. It seemed like only my pain was enormous. Then I heard the same things from all my friends. They all had losses, they all had pains.

Their houses were gone, and so on. Because we experienced the same things, I realized, yes, many people are in the same situation. I am not alone. It helped me a bit to recover.”
