Can Hasateş

Generous Listening Groups Project Lead

Dr. Can Hasateş plays an active role in establishing the academic and scientific foundations of the Generous Listening–based projects conducted within the foundation. He is responsible for developing the theoretical framework of the programs, designing measurement and evaluation tools, structuring scientific data collection processes, and conducting data analysis. In addition, he provides supervision to field teams implementing the projects, and takes responsibility for facilitator training design and delivery, quality assurance processes, as well as the standardization and long-term sustainability of the programs.

Prior to joining the foundation, Dr. Hasateş worked for five years as a psychologist in project-based, community-oriented clinical psychology settings across different institutions, where he provided individual psychological counseling services. During this period, he focused particularly on post-trauma psychosocial support, community-based interventions, and practices aimed at strengthening psychological well-being.

Dr. Hasateş holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. His academic work centers on interpersonal bonding, relational needs, interoception, and mental health. He approaches Generous Listening through the lenses of psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, and community resilience, and has contributed to research exploring its role in psychosocial support contexts. He also teaches part-time at various universities, integrating academic knowledge with field-based practice in both undergraduate and graduate education.
